(Re)Enabling support for the CC2420 chip on the TinyOS Simulator

چکیده
Simulation tools for networked devices are a valuable resource to speed up software development. • TOSSIM (TinyOS SIMulator)[1] is a network simulator that is part of TinyOS [2] (an operating system for networked wireless sensors). • The CC2420 chip [3] is a radio frequency transciever used in many wireless sensor devices. The TOSSIM maintained as part of the main TinyOS trunk does not implement simulation of the CC2420 chip. This has been succesfully implemented outside the primary TinyOS trunk in the past [4], however this support has not been maintained with newer versions of TinyOS. In this paper we describe in detail the process that was followed to add CC2420 simulation support to the latest TOSSIM. We also describe our evaluation method to confirm that the implementation is functional and accurate. We publish the results of our evaluations and show that the CC2420 is succesfully simulated within the TOSSIM environment.

Poster Abstract: AMSecure—Secure Link-Layer Communication in TinyOS for IEEE 802.15.4-based Wireless Sensor Networks
Many wireless sensor networks (WSNs) for medical, military, and control applications require strong security protection of messages. Yet, the algorithms and protocols used must be efficient in space and time due to the constrained resources of sensor devices. Existing link-layer security solutions for WSNs, such as SPINS [3] and TinySec [2]), rely on software-level encryption and authentication...
متن کاملDesign of a Low-Latency Router Based on Virtual Output Queuing and Bypass Channels for Wireless Network-on-Chip
Wireless network-on-chip (WiNoC) is considered as a novel approach for designing future multi-core systems. In WiNoCs, wireless routers (WRs) utilize high-bandwidth wireless links to reduce the transmission delay between the long distance nodes. When the network traffic loads increase, a large number of packets will be sent into the wired and wireless links and can...
متن کاملA Routing-Aware Simulated Annealing-based Placement Method in Wireless Network on Chips
Wireless network on chip (WiNoC) is one of the promising on-chip interconnection networks for on-chip system architectures. In addition to wired links, these architectures also use wireless links. Using these wireless links makes packets reach destination nodes faster and with less power consumption. These wireless links are provided by wireless interfaces in wireless routers. The WiNoC archite...
متن کاملNew Method for Analysis of image sensor to produce and evaluate the image
In this paper, a new method for evaluating CMOS image sensors based on computer modeling and analysis is introduced. Image sensors are composed of different parts, each of which has a specific effect on image quality. Circuits of image sensors can be evaluated and analyzed using circuit simulators or theoretically, but these methods cannot help to produce the final image. In order to produce th...
متن کاملSLEEP: A Scheduling-based Low duty-cycle Energy Efficient Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
In the paper, we propose an energyefficient communication protocol, called Scheduling-based Low duty cycle Energy Efficient Protocol (SLEEP). The proposed protocol ensures that a node wakes up at specific times and transmits only when the receiving node is awake to receive a message, while ensuring that the channel capacity is fairly distributed among participating nodes. The protocol is simple...
